A-zone Performance is dedicated to helping athletes reach their peak potential by combining sports psychology with a personalised approach to performance enhancement. We believe that performance starts with the mind, and our aim is to help you feel empowered, by identifying, developing, embracing your strengths in training and competition, so that you can thrive in your “A” zone—both in sport and in life. Our focus is on facilitating a comfortable space for you to progress and advance competitive gains, whilst maintaining and optimising wellbeing and performance levels.


Introduction – Meet Alexandra

Alexandra’s passion for sport began at an early age, with some of her fondest childhood memories involving outdoor adventures—learning to swim, cycling with her family, and playing various sports. Growing up on a farm in South Africa nurtured her love for movement and competition, leading her to participate in swimming, ballet, hockey, and cycling.

This passion for sport ultimately led her to pursue a career in sport psychology, where she discovered the immense power of the mind in athletic performance. Alexandra has worked with athletes of all levels across a variety of sports, helping them enhance their performance, maintain well-being, and develop mental resilience.

Her approach goes beyond simply addressing performance challenges—she works collaboratively with her clients to identify strengths, build confidence, and implement strategies for long-term success. She values meaningful relationships, recognising that athletes are not just competitors but individuals with unique identities, experiences, and aspirations.

Alexandra’s academic journey has provided her with a strong foundation in sport psychology. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Communication Sciences from IIE Varsity College, South Africa (2016–2018), followed by a Bachelor of Social Science Honours in Psychology from the University of Pretoria (2019). She further advanced her expertise with an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Loughborough University, UK (2021–2022). Currently, she is a Sport and Exercise Psychologist (in training) on the Sport and Exercise Psychology Accreditation Route (SEPAR) with the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (2023–present).
